According to many online sources, an updated version of Apple AirPods could be released before the end of 2021. Although an exact date for its release has not come out yet, there is a buzz that the AirPods 3 could be launched alongside the iPhone13 release event. If rumors are to be believed, there are suggestions that these new AirPods 3 would share many of its features with the AirPods Pro. These features could include spatial audio support and a smaller charging case.

According to a high-quality image that was leaked online, the design features of the new AirPods 3 would also be strikingly similar to the AirPods Pro. It is touted to have a silicon-tipped design with a shorter stem. This will be markedly different from the previous two generations of AirPod designs, which usually had a longer stem sticking down from the ear. There is news that the new AirPods 3 will also borrow the interchangeable tip design from the Pro version. This will allow the earbuds to fit more snugly in the ears as compared to the current AirPods, which have a tendency to fall out easily during walking or running.

The new AirPods 3 will also feature some improvements over the AirPods Pro version too. While the Pro models usually have clickable stems for interacting with the earbuds, there are rumors that the AirPods 3 will have touch surfaces instead. The entry-level models of the AirPods 3 might not have the active noise cancellation mode. An interesting feature in these new models could be the new sensors which will have more health and fitness-related sensors.
