No, according to the Former President Donald Trump, it is highly unlikely that he will be running for House Speaker in 2022. During an interview on the Fox Business Network, he shut down the latest conservative media theory regarding how he can get back to power. He said that there are a lot of people saying that he should run in 2022, but it is highly unlikely. However, he did mention that he will be running for president in 2024.

The theory about him running for House Speaker in 2022 began when a right-wing talk-radio host speculated that Trump could become a House speaker and run in a safe district if the GOP was able to flip the majority in the midterms of 2022. Now, theoretically, anyone can become the speaker as the Constitution doesn’t explicitly limit the position to the sitting members of Congress. The host, Wayne Allyn, suggested that Trump could become the House Speaker, lead Biden impeachment, and start criminal investigations against the current US President.

In the interview, he continued his rant about how he won the 2020 election, but the Democrats cheated. However, he did praise Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia for his commitment to maintaining the Senate filibuster. As per this, the required threshold for passing most legislation would be 60 votes and not the simple majority. He also voiced a conspiracy against Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, and said that he is still barred from social media platforms as they are run by ‘radical left crazy people’ who don’t want to listen to a ‘sane voice.’
